Arkansas started its statewide recording of vital events, such as births and deaths, in February 1914. However, the state did not receive full compliance until another 30 years. If you require a birth certificate that occurred before the year 1914,People Search, you may contact the concerned clerk of the county, where the event happened. Meanwhile, for birth records occurring after 1914, you may write to the Division of Vital Records under the Arkansas Department of Health. This department also has some of the original copies of Little Rock and Fort Smith births which have occurred in the year of 1881. They will require a $12-fee for the first copy you requested, while you may opt to pay another $10 for a requested additional copy. The $12-fee is not refundable at all and will be kept as a search fee in the future.

If you apply as a walk-in client, you may arrive to the Arkansas Vital Records before 4:00 pm so that you may receive your requested document on that same day. The easiest way to verify and search birth records is to search public birth records online. You will still have to pay a small fee, however you will be able to get a full refund if no records are found, unlike writing to the vital statistic office where refunds are not given.
